Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian, revealed that he held a lengthy meeting with Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. Pezeshkian said in statements on Thursday that he met with the guide for two and a half hours recently. He also added that the meeting between them “took place in a friendly atmosphere,” according to what was reported by local media. Pezeshkian touched on economic pressure, saying, “American officials are speaking publicly about increasing economic pressure on the Iranian people with the aim of creating a state of discontent.” He continued: "We are subject to external pressure to increase economic pressure, destabilize internal stability, and weaken national cohesion." He also urged Iranians to unite and cohesion, stressing that the priority now is to prevent division in the country, and demanded that internal criticism not be a cause of division.
